Will this fit my vehicle?

Empi have developed the B5-6060-0 performance shifter to fit T2 buses from 1967 till 1979, of which are left-hand drive. This makes it a really useful part as it’s compatible with both bays and splits.

Instructions are also available online and will guide you through the process of installing and adjusting your brand new shifter.

Works great, looks great

Built for enhanced performance, and therefore a faster and more accurate gear change. Empi’s Billet Plus shifter is a great addition to any T2 bus that has a little more power than it left the factory with.

The handle of the shifter features an engraved Empi logo, and the base has some etched flourishes. The shifter comes with a lockout plate, which is designed for precise and locked-in movement, enabling you to change gear quickly and remove play while selecting gears.

Carefully assembled to ensure that your new shifter is as effective as possible, you’ll notice a dramatic difference as soon as it’s fitted.

The base and handle are created from machined aluminium, which is incredibly strong and durable, without the weight. The shaft is finished with high quality chrome and is made to be extra strong, especially because of it’s long length. The chrome will keep the shifter looking fantastic for years to come and the poly rein bushings make for butter-like movement!

What are poly resin bushings?

The bushings inside your shifter help the whole assembly work as smooth as possible, whilst the product also moves sharply and accurately; the aim being sleek and secure movement, without play and wiggle. Worn or loose bushings can lead to a sloppy or inaccurate gear change, but this risk is pretty much removed thanks to the poly resin bushings.

 A type of epoxy bushing, poly resin bushings are more flexible than those which are made from other materials. This helps them provide a more cushioned and supported feel than the feel you’d receive as a result of plastic or ceramic bushings.

Poly resin bushings are around 60% lighter than the average ceramic bushings and have roughly ten times the tensile strength of the average porcelain bushings. This makes them far more resistant to wear, and therefore won’t leave you stirring to find the right gear.

These factors all help to make a big difference overall to the performance of this Empi billet plus performance shifter.
