When checking your alternator’s efficiency, test for voltage and amperage outputs. Your alternator has a rated amperage output specific to the electrical requirements of your vehicle. If you’re not sure, check with us. Regulates the charging voltage produced by your vehicle’s alternator – maintaining it between 13.5v and 14.5v in order to run efficiently and to protect the electrical system. Too much voltage and costly damage could result with parts burned out; too little, and performance is weakened.
