Alternator V-Belt (11.3mm x 912mm) Beetle 1974–1979 T2 Bay 1600cc 1974–1979 & Brazilian Bays
Aircooled engines rely on this belt to drive the generator and, in turn, the cooling fan. A snapped belt will quickly result in a very hot engine. A slipping belt will also result in reduced cooling. Be prepared: for just £5, this ‘insurance’ offers a very good deal!

Doh!Converted my dynamo to alternator. Noticed that I had a LOT of particulate building up around the fanbelt area. Then realised I was slowly eating the belt. Turns out that alternators require this size of belt which is slightly longer/wider. All good now.
