Steering Box RHD VW Beetle 1302-1303 1971-1974

Invest in a great quality reconditioned steering box for your VW Beetle. Supplied on an exchange basis, it’s designed to fit the right-hand drive 1302 and 1303 VW Beetles built from 1971 to 1974.

Each of these refurbished steering boxes goes through a rigourous procedure. All reconditioned steering boxes start with a visual inspection to look for obvious damage, wear, corrosion or other indications of failure. they’re then strip-cleaned and inspected for wear, before being measured to ensure they are within original manufacturing tolerance.

The cases are blasted, then etch primed and painted satin black. Several internal parts are replaced as a matter of course, including seals, bearings, gaskets, dirt seals and fasteners.

Pegs, worms, sector shaft, roller, bushes are replaced if they’re outside of set tolerances.

All boxes are fully built up, pre-filled with Penrite steering box lube and bench set up. These units are sold on an exchange basis, and we charge a £50 core charge, which will be refunded once your old steering box has been returned and inspected to check its suitable for re building.
