Here’s how you can get your VW T2 Split Screen on display at Goodwood Revival

We’re working with our friends at Goodwood to help them find T2 Splits for the Goodwood Revival this September, where they’ll be celebrating 75 years since the VW T2 Split Screen first went into mass production.

They’re planning on creating the most diverse display of Split Screens ever assembled, and your T2 could be part of it!

What kind of VW T2 Split Screens are Goodwood looking for?

We’re helping Goodwood to find beautiful, original-looking VW T2 Split Screens to take part in their display at Goodwood Revival.

The criteria that Goodwood has set for selecting vehicles to take part in the display and parade are as follows:

Painted in colour available for the year of production (1950 to 1966)
Original / period-correct wheels
Stock suspension (No slammed rides – sorry!)
Original / period-correct interior spec
No visible rust
Custom paintwork accepted – if in period style
No wrapped vehicles (vinyl signage allowed if in period style font)
Original patina is fine, subject to approval by Goodwood

Small deviations from the above may be accepted by the team at Goodwood Revival, and all of the VW T2 Splits which are put forward will be looked at on an individual, case-by-case basis.

How are Just Kampers involved?

Since we’ve been part of the VW community here in the UK since 1989, our friends at Goodwood have asked us to lend a hand with finding a whole array of different VW T2 Splits for their celebration at Goodwood Revival.

That’s why we’re reaching out to our friends and customers, to see if they want to be part of this amazing display.

While we’re not part of the approval or vetting process, it’s great to be able to play a part in what could be the largest display of VW T2 Split Screens in the world!

What’s involved in displaying my VW T2 Split Screen at Goodwood Revival?

Anyone looking to have their VW T2 Split take part in the official display and parades at Goodwood Revival will need to adhere to the following terms.

Selected owners are invited to an exclusive celebration of the Volkswagen Type 2 at the Goodwood Revival, which includes a static display and a parade of Type 2s throughout the weekend
All VW T2 Splits will take part in a lap of the track in formation each morning of the event (Friday, Saturday & Sunday), so it’s vital that your vehicle is in good running order and won’t leak oil over the track
Vehicles must be on static display for the duration of the event, and once onsite cannot leave. This means you may need to arrange for someone to pick you up after the event winds down each evening, unless you’re staying on site
You won’t be able to camp overnight in your VW T2 Split during the event, although camping will be available separately if your vehicle is selected to take part in the event
The latest arrival for VW T2 Splits to the Goodwood Motor Circuit is by 17:00 Thursday 11 September, and they’ll need to stay onsite until ~20:00 on Sunday 14 September
You’ll need to remove your VW T2 Split by 12:00 on Monday 15 September
A valid road driving licence is required

Will I get given tickets to Goodwood Revival?

Absolutely! If your VW T2 Split is chosen by Goodwood to take part in the official display and parades, you’ll be given:

• 2x Weekend Admission Tickets, which grants entry into event site
• 2x Paddock Passes, which give you access to the paddocks and pit lane pedestrian tunnel underneath the track
• 2x Pilot’s Club Passes, which let you enter the exclusive enclosure at Goodwood Revival for complimentary breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea each day, including soft drinks & tea/coffee

Camping can be requested and paid for via the Goodwood Revival Competitors’ Portal on a first come first served basis, and camping will be released to invited owners in March. You won’t be able to camp in your VW T2 Split if it’s chosen to be part of the official display.

How do I enter my VW T2 Split for Goodwood Revival?

We’ve set up a handy form which you can fill in with your details and information about your T2 Split. Once you’ve entered all the information and submitted the form below, we’ll make sure your Splitscreen matches the criteria which Goodwood have set, and then pass your details on to them.

You’ll need to include six recent images of your T2 Split, showing the front, rear, nearside, offside, cab, and interior of your vehicle. Please make sure that these images are as clear and high resolution as possible, to make it easy for Goodwood to pick the right vehicles.

We’re really proud to be helping Goodwood to organise the biggest and best display of VW T2 Splitscreens there’s ever been, and can’t wait to see them all taking part in Goodwood Revival this September.
