Why would I upgrade my gas struts?

These struts are an important upgrade, for those who’ve recently fitted a bike rack to their T5. While at first, your standard struts may support the weight of your bike rack, they’ll quickly perish under the load. When used as a pair, these improved gas struts supply superior force, in comparison to standard ones.

The original struts will produce somewhere around 260 N of force individually, while these upgraded struts produce approximately 1250 N, upon ejection. Gas struts generate force by compressing air within the strut chamber; these struts hold greater pressure, so more force is applied on return. When a strut can produce higher force, it can support higher weight levels.
