Project 22
Introducing our latest JK project, a 2020 SWB Transporter T26 Startline TDI in Pure Grey.
It has been an interesting 18 months of fluctuating van prices and new van supply issues (along with everything else!), so when we spotted this one for sale one evening we made sure we were first to call about buying it in the morning!
After just over a week the van was delivered from up north, and we started using it immediately to visit suppliers and customers. We’re really impressed with how the van drives compared to older models, but some additional creature comforts will be added soon.
The JK Team are going to transform this basic van at JK HQ in Odiham, Hampshire into a full camper that leaves people speechless. On the exterior we’ll be adding some nice new alloys, suspension, a sports body kit, and a range of subtle styling changes. Inside you’ll see us develop a modern, family-friendly camping interior set up.
We’ll be documenting everything we do with Project 22 to give you the ultimate guide for a DIY camper build including tips, tricks, and mistakes to avoid along the way. We’re not professional convertors, but we have a mix of very capable enthusiasts ready to get involved!
One thing we’re very proud of at JK is that we use our own parts on our own vehicles. We’ll be using the Project 22 van to trial and test new products as we go. If we find any issues, we’ll resolve them or find a new supplier before adding them to our range, so you get the quality parts you deserve!
We’re super excited to get started with our conversion, and you’ll be able to witness the transformation on our Facebook and Instagram pages, as well as at various VW shows across the UK in 2022.
