Quest Kestral Air Drive Away Tailgate Awning VW T5 2003–2015 VW T6 2015–2024£529.00Special Order - In Stock
This great quality high top drive-away awning gives you roomy living or sleeping area which can be quickly added to the side of your camper by just one person, even if it’s a high roof model.
The Quest Eagle drive away awning has been created from high quality materials and designed to connect easily to campervans and motorhomes with a roof height between 240cm and 270cm, and uses traditional poles to hold the structure up, so you don’t need to worry about pumps or leaking air.
Because this is a drive-away awning, you’ll be able to detach it from the side of your camper and head off for the day, leaving your awning behind without it collapsing, and it’s designed to stand on its own.
Measures 300cm wide, 300cm deep, and 230cm tall at the highest point. Created with high quality fabric treated to resist damage from UV light, and impressive waterproof with a hydrostatic head of 6,000mm, Eagle Drive Away Awning is built to withstand the elements and will last you for years to come.
The height of the low top Quest Eagle makes it ideal for vehicles with an especially high roof.
If you’ve got a smaller campervan, the Quest Eagle awning is
also available in a hi-top version, suitable for campers which are 180cm to 210cm in height. See J50216.
How does the Quest Eagle Awning attach to my camper?
Your drive away awning has a connection tunnel, which allows you to attach your awning to your campervan. There are a few different ways you can do this, depending on what your camper has.
• Using the kador beading:
If your vehicle has an awning channel (like a Reimo rail or similar) on it, you can use the kador strip beading on the awning’s connection tunnel to fix it to your camper. The awning has dual beading (both 4mm and 6mm) on it as standard, which can be fed into the channel on your vehicle to hold it in position.
• The ‘up and over’ method:
There are guy lines located at the end of the beading on the connection tunnel, and you can attach your awning to your campervan by taking one of the guy lines and throwing it over your vehicle, then peg this guy line in the ground as normal. You then repeat this process for the guy line at the opposite end of the tunnel, and adjust the guy lines so the tunnel sits just on ridge of the roof of your vehicle.
Note: If you have a high vehicle you may have to attach a second guy line (not supplied) to the existing one in order to be the correct length. It can also be simpler and easier if you attach something like a tennis ball to the guy line as this makes it easier to throw over the roof of the vehicle.
