Quality Victron Energy product. This is the Victron Quattro, which is a combined inverter charger. It accepts two AC inputs and has the unique feature of automatic selection of the available power input. The unit has many features including a true sine wave inverter, adaptive charging, hybrid PowerAssist technology, and system integration features such as split phase operation or parallel operation.

At a glance:

  • Main output has no-break functionality so appliances are supplied with constant power,
  • PowerAssist feature prevents the possibility of overload to a limited AC source,
  • Parallel operation means you can run up to 6 Quattros together for higher power output,
  • Remote monitoring can be achieved with a GX device, controlled from anywhere via the internet,
  • The inverter converts 12 V power to 240 V power, which can be used by larger appliances.

This unit boasts some incredible features!

The Quattro has two AC inputs and outputs, so the unit can be connected to two independent AC sources. As an example, this could be a combination of shore-side power and a generator, or connection to two generators. The Quattro will automatically connect to the available source of power, for additional insurance.

No-break functionality means the main output will provide you with uninterrupted power, even in the event of grid failure or power disconnection. During power disruption, the unit takes over the supply to the connected loads. This is done in less than 20 milliseconds, so fast that computers and other electronic equipment can operate without effect. So even in the middle of nowhere, vehicles are assured of reliable power supply.

The second output is live only when AC is available on one of the Quattro inputs. Loads that shouldn’t discharge the battery, like air conditioning units or water heaters, can be connected to this output.

The Quattro prevents overload of a limited AC source, such as a generator or shore power connection. As this happens, battery charging is automatically reduced, otherwise an overload would occur. The unit then boosts the output by suppling power taken from the battery.

Parallel operation

Up to 6 Quattros can operate together, in parallel, to achieve a higher power output; three phase or split phase is also possible.

Remote monitoring and control

When used with a GX device, you can monitor and control your systems via the internet, you can do this locally or remotely from anywhere in the world. The VRM app or portal allows access from a phone, tablet, or computer so that you can operate your systems easily; there’s no end to the depth of control.

Inverter Charger

The inverter converts 12 V power to 240 V power, so it can be used by large appliances such as a microwave, air conditioner, fridge, etc. The Victron Quattro provides more ‘start up power’ than standard setups, which is required to power lots of appliances.
