It is with reluctance that we are offering our much-loved 1974 Volkswagen T2 Eurovette camper, affectionately known by us as “Pumpkin”, for sale.
We have owned Pumpkin since 2009. Before us, the van had four previous owners, and she has been part of our family for many years, taking us on countless adventures and creating a lot of very happy memories.
She has also been an exceptionally dependable old van during our ownership, having only broken down three times in all those years.
Sadly, now that we have a young family, we simply don't use her anymore and, after much thought, we've decided it is time for Pumpkin to find a new owner who will love and cherish her as we have. We'd love to see her go to someone who understands what they are buying and has the enthusiasm to restore her properly and bring her back to life.
A genuine 1974 Eurovette with its original interior
What makes this van particularly interesting is the amount of its original interior and fittings that remain.
This isn't a camper that has had its original interior stripped out and replaced with a modern conversion. Much of the character and history of the original camper is still there, making it an interesting basis for someone looking for an authentic restoration project.
The van includes:
Original wardrobe
Original storage above the bed
Original storage underneath the seats
Original 3/4-width rock 'n' roll bed
Two original roof hammocks
Original table
Original sink and tap
Original cooker
Original cushions and covers
Original curtains
Original radio
Original interior furniture and fittings
The only additions/changes to the interior are the replacement carpet and an additional CD player.
The van has covered just over 122,000 miles.
The bodywork
Pumpkin is being sold honestly as a restoration project and the bodywork requires significant TLC.
The work required includes:
Welding/bodywork to address areas of rust and corrosion
A new pop-top roof
Replacement/fitting of the cab doors
Further preparation and bodywork
Full respray
There is visible rust in various areas of the body, so we would strongly recommend viewing the van in person and assessing the condition and work required for yourself.
The van has been off the road since 2022 and is currently SORN. It runs, but will obviously require recommissioning and restoration before returning to the road.
As a historic vehicle, it is MOT exempt.
£6,495 ono
Viewing is very welcome and strongly recommended.
Please message with any genuine enquiries. We are happy to answer questions about Pumpkin.
