Hi. Anyone looking for to buy a project/ doer-upper. 1986 Blue VW T25 Caravelle. 1.9 petrol/LPG. Water cooled. Is near Haywards Heath/Sussex area at mechanic/garage. Great engine and starter. LPG, single carburettor, all working, all electrics, heat sensors all good ..inside all original and working/functioning..But the cost of getting it through it's MOT, is too high (as now retired, I need to sell to get bigger and more modern for across Europe travel)...due to welding and some replacement parts. New front brakes, 2 trailing arms, coolant pipes, bush’s, anti roll bars, need replacing. Some minor welding maybe. A local top notch company near Haywards Heath (you'll know who they are, they're being honest) have advised that it's best to go to someone who can source new/second hand parts and do the required work themselves to make it cost effective. I have not got the skills. I can provide all info from them and pics (some below).
Has MOT till mid October and drives fine, as such but will need to be transported from garage as they will not release on road.(I didn't see that coming). Was in to replace new clutch hydraulic pipe and slave cylinder. This is all done.(Was £617). Has very recent new starter battery. All original conversion, heater and gas hob and fridge. Bodywork is as you'd expect, got some issues but was siliconed up and not deteriorated. I've seen way way worse, is not a problem and some people like original patina..is reflected in the price. I have a thick folder with full history. It's a sad day to get rid of it. I've been advised to sell for £2000. Last year it passed MOT with no work, but a list of things to monitor. Couldn't use this year, and as you can see….Pics below. 1st is as was last week at garage ... Just needs a wash.
