1987 VW T25 1.9L Petrol Camper

Introducing 'Kyle'. This camper has been in our family since 2016. It was purchased as a 'tin-top' by our daughter and son-in-law in 2016 and they took it around Europe for six weeks without fault, and also to many VW festivals here in the UK. We have also had a lot of fun attending VW festivals in the UK and use the van for weekends away, sometimes only a few miles from our home (we're not as adventurous as them)! Since we acquired it in 2019 we have had the following fitted:
Upgraded Headlight Wiring Loom/Bulbs- July 2020
New Fuel Tank- October 2021
New Radiator and Fuel Lines- July 2024
New Starter Motor- April 2025
New Alternator- June 2026
A previous owner had a replacement engine fitted by 'The Engine Shop, Kent' in July 2009.
The van now has a 'Space Roof' pop-top which was fitted by 'Coast VW' in July 2024. They also fitted a mains hook-up behind the rear number plate. There is a two burner gas hob with grill, fridge which runs on 230v mains when on hook-up, sink with electric submersible pump, six recessed led lights with a remote and the front passenger seat is fitted with a swivel base. A leisure battery is located beneath the rear seat and there is a split charge relay fitted to keep this topped-up while the van is travelling. A Safe TPedal pedal lock, ARB awning and Maypole campervan cover will also be included.
The van has approx. 150k miles on the clock although I am not able to verify this. It has proved to be very reliable and we have had it serviced annually by 'Pool Garage, Magor' a local independent VW specialist. It has an MOT (with no advisories) until April 2027.
The only known fault is the fact that it is not possible to get cool air through the heater. On a warm day we drive with the windows ajar and this has never been a problem for us.
