This was a project we bought 2 years ago with the idea of getting “Skye” back on the road. All major body work andlower re-spray has been completed professionally by the previous owner; however, the internals were left untouched, and would benefit from a top half respray as this was not done. The bus was stripped to reveal mostly surface rust but attack by the tin worm around the rear inner wheel arches/vents which is an easy repair and one outrigger underneath. The underside had been Ziebarted, and the front suspension has a lowering kit, however it is currently at standard height. The electrics have all been up graded by renewing old faulty wires, horrible hacks and the ignition has been replaced with a new one along with a hot start relay. A solenoid fuel shut off valve has been fitted along with a fuel pressure regulator. The accelerator has been upgraded with a Buttybits Throttle kit for a smoother transfer of power. Brake shoe and wheel cylinders are all new. Gear linkage replaced and a new starter has been fitted along with a 95A Alternator in readiness for a leisure battery (not fitted).
The EMPI twin 34ICT carbs have been cleaned and re-jetted with more appropriate jets from Eurocarb which allows the engine to run a lot better. Original front seats that need reupholstering. The Dorma pop top has been removed and major defects repaired, now requires finishing. When obtained all the glass and roof vents were missing however all the roof liner stays, hops and handle as far as we ca see are all present. The interior comes with a full width fitted rock and roll bed frame plus unused seats/bed, door cards and stereo plus speakers.
Alas a change in circumstances now forces the sale of “Skye” to a new owner to complete the restoration and get back on the road. Still lots to do but comes with any spares, a breathable cover, plus copies of Bentley and other useful Restoration books. MOT and Tax exempt, 67516 miles.
