T3 Westfalia Atlantic Wolfsburg Edition
JX engine
With Buddy chair
Optional front table, pop up roof ladder and safety rail.
Also has an awning, Lazy Boy and bike rack, which I never used so I removed it, but it's come with the van.
Mechanically sound... in my ownership (4 years) it has had the following work done:
=> All new brakes and wheel bearings
=> Engine overhaul, down to new pistons/rings, bearings, cylinder head, injectors, turbo, and has had the injection pump rebuilt by DieselBob
=> Gearbox rebuild to include all new bearings, new 3rd gear and synchronisers, and has had the ruggedised output bearing modification carried out. The gearbox is also a rare 5 speed limited slip gearbox, with long ratios ~3000rpm at 70MPH - Cruises brilliantly.
=> Rear shocks
=> New steering universal joint for last year's MOT
I've done all this work myself, as this is what I do for a living, but I have a phonebook of BrickWerks and Vantopia receipts.
The van is reliable and drives brilliantly. I've been all over Europe in it, over the Alps and all the way down to Corsica, and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again tomorrow.
So, why am I selling... I am skilled at mechanics but not bodywork, and my van is going in all the usual places.
I planned to store it until I had time to learn the skills and do the bodywork myself, and it has been stored over winter and for the last 2 winters, but getting the time seems to be getting further away.
I don't want to patch it up. I either want a full restoration or to sell it, and I am currently on the sell-it side of the fence.
I also own a T6 California, which I am just starting to like!
It's MOT'd till next May
Also has a new leisure battery. Everything works except the OEM Eberspacher, which is probably an easy fix but I’ve never used the van in the cold months, so never got round to it.
As the headline says: sensible offers considered; insensible offers ignored. This is a great van, if you're happy to patch the body or have the skills to make it good. Or simply want a reliable van for the summer. It's ready to go.
Otherwise, it goes back into storage.
