VW Campervan, T2 bay window, 1972

Readvertised due to timewasters: now reduced in price for quick sale as garage space required:
ICONIC AND ORIGINAL VW BAY WINDOW CAMPER VAN
Rosie is a classic example of the iconic red and white bay window camper van. 54 years old and yet she runs beautifully and starts first time, every time. She is a 1972 cross-over T2 with elegant running board bumpers at the front and long rear multiunit lights at the rear. She is a RHD UK registered van and is very original and unmodified.
Rosie’s engine is a standard twin port 1600 fitted with a new Solex carburetor, electronic ignition and has an alternator conversion. Her engine was replaced with a reconditioned unit in 2015 (at 28,955 miles) shortly before I bought her and has proven very reliable in my ownership. Has never stopped/always started.
Inside she retains the original VW textured vinyl upholstery in the cab (in good condition) and has red candy stripe rear seat/bed with matching red gingham curtains in the rear.
Rosie has an auxiliary battery (charged from the alternator) which runs 12V accessories. She comes with a 2P+E mains hook up reel for use at camp sites and a 240/12V refrigerated cool box when travelling in between. Entertainment is provided by a RetroSound DAB/FM/Bluetooth system (which looks like a 1970s radio). Rosie has privacy film fitted to the rear compartment windows (we like this but the film can easily be removed if you don’t). She comes with an Easy Camp drive-away air pole awning.
The bodywork is in good condition overall. There are some small areas of paint bubbling and rust — nothing out of the ordinary for a van of this age and does not detract from its overall appearance.
We have taken her for weekends away as well as longer summer holiday road trips and she has always been super reliable and always attracts ‘oohs and ah’s’ on every campsite. I am going to miss her so much but with my deteriorating health condition, camping is no longer an option. Rosie has lots of life left in her and she is wasted just standing in the garage except for the occasional day trip. She is looking for someone who will care for her as much as I do.
