Our kids have grown up, so we’re very sad to be saying goodbye to our amazing campervan which has taken our family of four on holidays all round Europe and the UK, camping weekends, festivals etc every year for the past 19 years. From Glastonbury’s Greenfields to Galicia’s off-grid surf breaks, it’s been our passport to all kinds of amazing adventures.
With an LPG-powered fridge, water tank and solar panel, it is fully kitted out for off-grid adventures wherever you want to go. It’s a practical van rather than a show winner, and we’ve worked hard to keep it in ready-to-go holiday condition since we’ve owned it. Much of the original top-spec Westfalia interior is still going strong after 40 years, and we’ve made some modifications to make things more adventure ready (solar panel, surf and bike racks etc). It’s practical, pretty much bomb-proof, and ready to go!
It doesn’t go fast (sits at 60mph on the motorway, slows down when you go up hill) but the engine has been well looked after and the top end has been recently rebuilt.

Since 2010 we’ve had it looked after - annual service, running repairs and bodywork - by the fantastic VW specialists Moores in Clevedon.
All the bodywork (apart from the passengers door and step) has been restored by Sam at Moores, detailed below. A little bit of rust starting to reappear on the gutters, but the rest of the repairs are still clean and solid.
Dry stored over winter since 2010.
It has the later galvanised chassis so no rust underneath.
