Manufactured in 1978 and registered in the UK in 1981, we have owned our superb VW T2 Late Bay campervan ‘Bart’ since 2016. He has had yearly servicing and MOTs (despite being tax and MOT exempt since 2019) and we have lovingly maintained and improved him. We bought him from a classic campervan hire company local to us, where he had bare metal strip down and full renovation before being rented out for short breaks. At that time, he was looked after by their own full-time mechanic and kept garaged when not in use.
Full service history during our ownership is available, along with record of renovation and maintenance since 2006 (including photos). The campervan has been garaged at our house, kept on trickle charge when not being used for occasional camping trips and days out.
In great condition, and a reliable drive, the most recent service and MOT was in March this year, with no advisories. All set up for camping with a pop top roof, VanWurks interior, and the awning tent which was used when he was for hire.
We are selling now because our children are all grown up and their dream ‘Car with Curtains’ is ready for new adventures.
