For sale is our beloved VW T2 - Max.
A 1978 late bay Westfalia Champagne edition with original interior with 4 three point seatbelts to safely travel and sleep. The late bay editions have strong enough pop top structure to be able to sleep 2 adults up top, meaning 4 adults can travel or it can fit a growing family.
We're only selling due to recently becoming a family of 5, and the van not having the capacity for us all to travel together.
We bought it in August 2023 from VW Down Under, with previous owners having kept all service history and stored indoors. As part of the sale the pop top canvas and roof liner was replaced and two rear 3 point seatbelts added. Full specs here:

He's been regularly serviced since and we've bought some original late bay front seats, had them refurbed (see pics) and ready to fit but haven't done this yet due to the new baby. Just needs the aftermarket seat runners removing and original ones welding on.
Engine is 1600cc and has never broken down or failed to start, is super reliable, a rarity in the T2 world! We've used him weekly for local trips and been on longer tours round Scotland and Northumberland with no problems
He'll come with a 12V camping fridge, original interior table, and Coleman Journeymaster Deluxe Air XL Driveaway Awning can also be included. We've also got a smaller overhead awning which is great for a quick overnight stop.
Points to note:
- fuel gauge shows half when full, and empty when half full. Keep an eye on the mileometer does the job but is something that could be fixed
- minor leak from the passenger door in heavy rain, would benefit from new door liner
- slow oil leak as is often the case on these engines
