1979 Type 2 Bay Window Camper

My wife and myself have owned our bus since 1989, 37 years and sadly it is time to let it go due to lack of use. 1979, 2.0Ltr twin carb, the engine and operating system has all been kept to original spec as Volkswagen intended, all mechanical parts, engine, gearbox, running gear, steering etc are all original as when it left the factory, kept undercover since 1994, regularly cleaned underneath and waxoiled many times, it has been registered as a historic vehicle and is therefore MOT and tax exempt.
The interior has a two burner hob and grill and a 3 way fully working fridge/freezer, all in fantastic condition, included is a gas bottle (with gas), it is wired up for 240V with a hookup lead included. The bus has never been cooked in, all cooking has been done either outside or in an awning(except toast).
There is a starter battery and a leisure battery controlled by a split charge relay. Alloy wheels with great tyres.
Restored in 2003 and 2004 along with an engine overhaul, the bus has done only 32,300 miles since, and has had some minor cosmetic repairs in that time. We have loads and loads of history, some right from being new, we even have the 1985 receipt from Leisuredrive for the interior, all MOT'S since 1987 (except a couple due to restoration) up to 2020, the mileage is genuine at 98900 from new.
Since our ownership the oil and filter has been changed every 3000 miles and all servicing has been done by myself (qualified engineer). Please do not expect a show bus or one that has been recently renovated, it has been used for what it was intended but has been extremely well looked after and cared for, the paint is fantastic, the body has 2 small areas of light rust around the fridge vents, the engine runs like a dream and the underneath is rock solid with no rust, it has been waxoyled multiple times and is well protected and clean. I cannot describe how good this is underneath.
This bus is ready for immediate use, 100% reliable and a delight to own and drive.
There is loads of stuff that we have accumulated over the years that comes with it, a Vango Driveaway awning which is virtually new included, also some camping equipment that is in the price, and some that is extra however deals can be done.
This has been a much loved and well cared for bus which is in great condition with no issues at all.
A very sad and reluctant sale.
