I purchased this van in May 2023 from a chap in Sheffield where it had already been professionally converted. In nearly three years it has genuinely never let me down, not once. Every single trip, every adventure with the family, it has always started first time, always performed and always got us home safely. I cannot fault it mechanically and I say that with complete confidence.
All the major mechanical work was done in 2023. Reconditioned gearbox, cam belt, clutch and flywheel, driveshaft, all wheel bearings and brake discs. It drives absolutely perfectly and there is honestly nothing left to spend on it mechanically, it is just ready to go and enjoy. The van is Euro 5 rated. The inside is genuinely lovely and I am really proud of how it looks. It is a proper 4 berth sleeping 4 people comfortably, 2 upstairs in the pop top and 2 on the rock and roll bed downstairs. Five belted seats so fully road legal for five people on the move. The front passenger seat swivels round 360 degrees which is brilliant, you can all sit round the table together and it becomes a really warm social space inside, great for family meals, a brew, a catch up or just relaxing together. It really does transform the whole feel of the van.
The diesel air heater runs straight from the main fuel tank and barely uses anything. It is an upgraded MaxxPeedingRods unit with improved components so it is better than standard and keeps the van genuinely warm in all weathers. This is not just a summer van, we used it all year round. There is 240v mains hook up for campsites, a Dometic compressor fridge, a Dometic 2 burner stove and sink combined unit with cold water and 10 litre fresh water tank and waste tank so you are completely self contained. Fold out dining table, luxury diamond stitch leather seats throughout, upgraded stereo with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and Bluetooth, upgraded speakers, electric front windows, rear parking sensors, hill start assist, curtains and privacy glass on all windows, mood lighting, rear storage drawers, overhead cupboards, spare wheel with full jack kit, fire extinguisher and a full emergency breakdown kit. It really is fully kitted out and ready to go.
Like any well used 15 year old van the outside has some cosmetic marks which I want to be completely upfront about. The driver's side wing has a dent which was there when I purchased the van. The passenger side wing has some scraping. There is also scraping on the driver's side just above the metal body crease and slightly above on the body panel too, along with a small mark near the 240v hook up. There is also a bit of surface rust you typically see around the passenger side and sliding door on T5s of this age. Every single one of these marks is visible in the photos and every bit of it is honestly reflected in the asking price. The van drives absolutely perfectly and none of it affects it mechanically one bit.
To be transparent I also bought a full set of body panels and parts with the intention of doing a complete respray myself. That never happened as work took me abroad. Everything is included in the sale, a brand new passenger side wing never fitted, a driver's side wing, LED rear lights not yet fitted, driver and passenger side doors and sliding door seals. If anyone fancied doing a full respray all the panels are there and ready to go. You could have it done in any colour you like and given how nice the inside already is the finished result would be exceptional and worth considerably more than I am asking.
