For sale is my Volkswagen Type 2 early bay Dormobile conversion, owned since 2008 and the subject of a full bare-metal rebuild completed between 2015–2016.
The restoration was carried out properly, with the van stripped back to bare metal and rebuilt to a solid, long-lasting standard. The underside and engine bay have been epoxy coated for durability and corrosion protection—this is a structurally sound example, not a cosmetic tidy-up.
Mechanically, it’s fitted with an upgraded engine featuring twin carburettors and bored cylinders, giving noticeably better performance than a stock setup. It runs and drives well, and has been maintained with usability in mind.
Finished in a classic white and red colour scheme, it presents very well and gets plenty of attention. Being a genuine Dormobile conversion, it offers the practicality and charm these campers are known for. Inside is a full-width rock and roll bed, making it ideal for trips and weekends away.
