Our 1977 VW T2 Bay Window Campervan with Devon Conversion.
He has a 1.6L stock engine with manual transmission.
We purchased him from a friend who had owned him for 10 years and used him for family camping trips.
He has recently undergone a full bodywork restoration. Work included:
New A pillars
Front arches
Rear arches
Rear corners
New sliding door skins (inner & outer)
New rear bumper
New battery tray and battery
Wax Oiled
Full respray
Full set of replacement rubber seals
All invoicing of works carried out is available along with a very long history of receipts and details of servicing going back to 1981!
The engine is a stock 1.6L and has been rebuilt in the last 12 years with less than 5000 since 2012. He starts and runs perfectly. An engine fire suppression system has been recently installed to provide peace of mind with this fabulous air-cooled engine. An EMPI short shift gear plate has been added to make gear changes easier.
The interior comprises a full width rock 'n' roll bed with 2 x 3-point seat belts installed. The original bunks are still installed making it suitable for a family of 4 to enjoy memorable breaks together.
He has been kept as original as possible but with a few modern touches such as a powerful Alpine Bluetooth handsfree stereo with JBL / Alpine speakers and a volt meter / USB charging socket. He also has a remote immobiliser.
As a vintage vehicle there is no Road Tax to pay, and insurance premiums are generally low.
Price has been heavily reduced to sell as alternator (High voltage reading) and brake master cylinder (leak detected) require attention / replacement.
