These are exactly the kind of buses we love to sell, but are also the ones that are becoming increasingly harder to find. A bus that has had a thorough restoration and tens of thousands spent so that you don’t have to.
I’ve never met a VW enthusiast who doesn’t have a soft spot for a really good early bay window. This T2 is from 1968, therefore presenting the pure early shape highly indicative of this era. The specification is highly desirable in factory Right Hand Drive Walk Through format, meaning that you can walk from the front to the rear of the bus without the need to exit. This really makes the bus feel all as one inside and is particularly useful also if the weather starts to turn as you don’t have to exit at any point. The original Made In Germany VIN plate is present on the drivers bulkhead.
Bodywork & Paint
This bus was previously owned by a fastidious VW enthusiast who always kept it garaged and spent an absolute fortune restoring it to a very high standard. The bus has been stripped right down and all new metal work installed professionally using panels from Alan Schofields Ltd. They are one of the best VW parts companies out there who press superb panels, and we have used them almost exclusively for 15+ years.
The body prep and paintwork of the bus inside and out have been completed to a matching high standard and present with a glass like shine throughout. All of the hallmark signs of a top-quality resto include equal condition paint to the engine bay, door shuts, cab floors, bulkheads etc. The colour is VW Mango Green, and the roof is VW Seagull Grey. This early original VW colour scheme has always remained highly sought after and looks stunning on the road throughout any season.
Pop Top Roof
The icing on the cake is the Dormobile side elevating full width roof which in our opinion is the best pop top model available. A testament to Dormobile is that they are still going as strong today as they were when they converted these buses in the 1960s. When elevated, there is a vast increase in headroom allowing even a tall person to stand up inside the bus. This is also an original Dormobile conversion as indicated by the original and rare Dormobile plaque still present on the dashboard.

Note – We specialise in Bespoke interior builds on these vehicles and are able to offer / accommodate any modifications or additions that you would like in this interior. Porsche Tombstone upgraded seats offering head support and superior comfort. Full upholstery in genuine leather (very rarely done and usually vinyl) as the cost to do this is eye watering! Full width Rusty Lee rock n roll bed (the best and only bed frame to use). Sits as a 3 person forward facing seat and pulls down to make a large full width bed. Side bench and skirting board in dark wood veneer with storage underneath. New curtain set throughout including on Dormobile roof windows. (Can easily be changed if not to your taste) Quality carpet set up front Brand new quality wood rim steering wheel and stainless horn push kit. Bamboo under dash tray.

Even though no longer required by law, the bus will come with an MOT certificate (ironic to the cool registration MOT711F) and is of course road tax fee exempt due to its age and is usually inexpensive to insure. Delivery nationwide can be arranged.
