A wonderful Bay Window bus from 1973. This is a factory German built and UK supplied Right Hand Drive bus. There is a certificate of provenance with the bus from the Stiftung VW Automuseum in Germany. This is an invaluable document supporting its exact provenance and specification from new.
This bus has a highly sought after spec being Right Hand drive with a walkthrough bulkhead allowing you to walk from the front to the rear of the bus effortlessly without the need to exit the vehicle.
It also features the iconic Westfalia pop top roof which vastly increases headroom and has side opening vents to keep it cool on hot days
The bus has been owned locally to us by local VW enthusiasts for the past 13 years, used for adventures and has plenty of paperwork for servicing and mechanical work carried out throughout this time as well as old MOTs dating back even further.
Since acquiring the bus we have carried out restoration work on the vehicle. As the bus has been well cared for, the repairs required were minimal and the main bulk of the work involved was stripping and painting the lower half of the bus in the early and traditional VW colour of Sea Blue. The engine, fuel tank and all associated components were all removed in order to carry out a thorough job including painting of the entire engine bay, inside the rear shell and the cab area. This exposed all of the unseen floor sections to assure all was in good order in this department.
The gearbox was rebuilt in 2015 and the reconditioned engine has been freshly serviced with all new seals in summer 2024.
After the main restoration work had been completed, it was then time for us to build and install one of our high-end bespoke interiors. We pride ourselves on building unique interiors for these buses to offer both comfort and style whilst also retaining practicality. Each one is built bespoke by a team of specialists and as such we only have limited capacity to do a handful per year, valuing quality over quantity.
All the products, appliances and materials are of the highest standard and have been tried and tested, to ensure the best possible user experience. We have tweaked our design several times over the years and believe this interior to now be the ultimate and most effective use of space on a walkthrough model classic VW.

The best available on the market and not compromised like the ¾ width ones are. • Flip down rear facing buddy seat to match with 2’’ matching seat cushion. • Brand new upholstery throughout in Navy Blue with fluted embellishments using the original style salt & pepper vinyl (available by popular demand at great expense) on various panels. • Brand new headliner in original style perforated off white vinyl finished neatly around all window apertures down to waist line. • Main bespoke cabinetry finished in Arctic light grey laminate featuring side facing unit to house appliances. Built by a very skilled joiner to offer a unique feel to the inside of this bus. • Waeco CRX50 Fridge with flush mount surround frame. • CAN SRL Sink / Double Gas burner unit. • All appliances the best available tried and tested products. • Worktops and table finished in black woodgrain and curved Devon edging trim to retain a retro feel inside. • Curved matching laminate bed skirting board to sit flush with frame. • All joinery built with raised and recessed plinth section to house ambient RGBW colour changing LED strip lighting. Controllable by remote all different colours. • Curtain tracks all round and new delicately themed curtain set black out lined with popper tie backs. Matching and similar themed cushions also. • Retrofitted 3-point harnesses / seatbelts in the front. Rears can be fitted also at additional cost if required.
