Up for sale is a rare 1967 Volkswagen T2 coachbuilt style, LHD splitscreen campervan. A perfect project for someone looking for something a bit different or for a bit more space in the back!
This camper was imported from the USA in 2008 via FBI VW Services in Swansea. It has never been UK registered, but we have all the necessary customs import documentation and the original USA state of title, making it ready for DVLA registration.
Following importing it suffered from rear-end damage to the wooden coach frame, and has since been rebuilt. However, the restoration was never fully completed, so it remains an exciting project for someone to take on and finish in its current style or perhaps remodel it to suit their own vision.
It comes with a reconditioned 1600TP engine. The running gear and wiring is all sound (although we'd suggest it's commissioned following a long time sat in the back garden!) and it fires up and runs well. That said, it’s been stationary for some time, so a bit of TLC will be required to get it road-ready and would obviously need to be transported on trailer following the purchase.
