Sad to sell our lovely 'Angie'
Unfortunately I am once again a student and can no longer keep this great van (need to fund my studies and have no time to travel). We have owned Angie since 2021 and had many great trips together, visiting Wales, Scotland, Germany, Italy, France and more!!
She is an original 1989 water-cooled VW California (left-hand drive), and considering her age, is in excellent condition inside and out. She has quite extensive pack of documents, dating back to her original purchases. Has been regularly serviced and MOT’d (next is due May 2026). Mechanics
- When purchased she had just been fitted with a newly refurbished 1.6L turbo-diesel engine. Since then she has done just over 20,000kms
- At the same time she was also fitted with a new exhaust system, turbo and cooling system. All is still in great condition and has been treated with wax sealant to protect against rust and salt from the roads!
- Mud and snow tyres (2022)
- fuel system clean out with air filter, oil filter and fuel filter change (2024)
- New clutch and 5 speed gear box (2024) - which has <1000m on it (gearbox oil has been run in and replaced)
- replaced rear brake hoses, rear metal brake pipes, rear brake shoes, rear wheel cylinders, and brakes have been bled (2025)
Body work - In 2023 we replaced pretty much the whole left hand side of the van, this included panels, wheel arches, window seals, and stickers, so she is looking (half) sparkly and new
- The rest of the body is still in great shape, however she has some superficial rust in the common areas (as with all these vans) around the front right wheel arch, side panel seal and around the boot, as seen in the photos! It is nothing structural and doesn’t spread deep!
Interior/extras - Everything inside is factory fitted and generally in great condition
- She sleeps 4 as seen in photos
- Has plenty of storage and lighting
- Has multiple charging ports running from the leisure battery and one mains socket from the 240v on hook up
- The fridge is the original and runs off of 240v, 12v leisure battery and intermittently on gas (the sparking element needs to be taken out and checked over but I haven’t had time)
- Two hobs running off an external LPG refillable gas tank underneath (safety checked 2022)
- Working sink, with running water and a pretty large water tank
- The diesel fuel-injector heating system is in place but currently not working (should be possible to fix but again haven’t had time to take a look)
- Radio system has been updated and she has the ability to play anything you wish via Bluetooth or aux!
- 1 x 12v leisure battery with space for another behind the passenger seat.
- Bike rack (as seen) comfortably fits 2 large bikes.
