1977 Volkswagen Type 2 T2 Westfalia Campmobile Camper Van For Sale

We’re pleased to present this 1977 Volkswagen Type 2 Bay Window Westfalia Campmobile for sale - one that we have been involved in maintaining since 2018.

This Westy originally began its life in Colorado, USA, and ventured all over the West Coast before being imported to the UK in February 2014.  A plethora of documentation and history has been preserved, detailing each individual owner and their adventures in this Westfalia, complete with photo documentation. This has been a truly cherished example, and we’re delighted to facilitate its sale.

As stated by the M-Codes, this T2 Bay Window was originally specified as a Westfalia with the Campmobile interior type. Its planned production date was August 1976, and it was first registered in Chicago, USA, in 1977. Since new, the T2 has had five owners, two of whom have been in the UK.

Upon its arrival in the UK in 2015, the T2 underwent a restoration by Retro Campers Norfolk. This included a full exterior restoration and a respray in its original colour, L63H Sage Green, now complemented by a white two-tone upper half to break up the original full green body.

All seats, including the rear ¾ rock and roll bed, stool, and upper bed mattress, have been reupholstered in light grey vinyl. Bespoke green tartan curtains have been installed, along with a natural sisal carpet up front, further complementing the interior.

The camper retains its original Westfalia Campmobile furnishings, including ample storage cupboards, a spare wheel compartment, fridge, twin gas hobs, and a cold water tap with sink. A Propex heater has also been installed, providing warmth during chilly evenings.

Up front, the cabin remains untouched, preserving the original dials and dashboard features.

Since 2018, we have been involved in the vehicle’s upkeep, with the camper visiting us annually for maintenance, servicing, and upgrades, including a twin 40 Weber carburettor upgrade.

Drawing your attention to its condition, there are a few areas of the bodywork that show signs of age and would benefit from light restoration in the future.
