T25 Air cooled 1981 Trasnsporter for sale

We are reluctantly selling our beloved family campervan because we need a family car. A 1981 Air Cooled VW Transporter, it’s now an historic vehicle, so no MOT or tax needed. The van is our only vehicle and I drive it daily. We also use it for regular camping trips as far as Margate to Blackpool! It drives really well and has a 2 litre (1970cc) petrol engine.
I bought the van in 2021 from someone who had it for about 10 years and one owner before that. The exterior is showing some signs of age and will need some work on the passenger side back panel as well as around the windows if you are looking to restore it to tip top condition. Yellow and white bodywork means the van gains lots of attention wherever we go. The concertina roof is in good condition, it keeps everyone dry when sleeping in the queen size bed up in the roof area. The skylight has been made water-tight and the sleeping boards replaced with new ones in 2022.
The interior has its original soft seat furnishings and I have had new black out curtains throughout. The rock and roll bed works soundly with storage underneath. We also have the original cushions for the top sleeping bunk and a fitted mattress topper for extra comfort. There’s also a fitted black out window cover for night time. There is a large gas bottle, still with gas for the original grill and fridge. A leisure battery has also been fitted with two USB posts and interior lights.
The van has the original sink, water tank and cupboards.
Over the years I have had work done on the brakes, new battery, new starter motor, oil leak fixed, petrol lines replaced, arm ball dust joint replaced.
In 2021 I had new rear tyres, new brakes and hose brake system, new pushrod tubes. Work has been done continuously throughout the last 4 years and I can provide a record of this for serious buyers. The van now needs a new exhaust.
I would like to see the van go to someone who can provide the care and attention it needs to keep it bringing joy to those who use it.
