VW T25 1987 2.1 ltr petrol Hi-top

£4,000.00
SE22
Reluctantly selling my 1987 VW T25 Kameo 'Dandelion' as I'm moving abroad later this year for the foreseeable and I'd much rather see her go to a loving new home rather than be left in storage for the next few years. She has been a trusted adventure companion over the last 7 years I've owned her, travelling to various festivals as well as across Europe. I've gotten a lot of joy out of her over the years and hope that her new owner/s also get to go on similar adventures with her. She's MOT'd, in good working order and good to drive but I've outlined some maintenance work that will need addressing to keep her in good working order for years to come, which the price of sale reflects.

- 2100cc petrol water-cooled engine & LPG tank
- Automatic transmission
114,000 miles
4 seatbelts, 2 berth sleeper
MOT until Aug 2025
New reconditioned engine fitted (from VW Campers) when first bought 6 years ago. This was done at approx 80,000 miles so the engine has technically only done 35,000 miles.
Original interior features including cupboards, upholstery (with some cosmetic tears), 2 berth rock n roll bed with memory foam mattress topper and portable dining table.
Good size leisure water tank under the bed and new water pump fitted a few years ago.
New battery installed last year
Brake pads replaced Aug '24
Coolant and oil changed within the last 1,000- 2,000 miles.
Rooftop box (unlocked but with missing key which I haven't been able to replace but had no issues with leaving my stuff in it) & ladder to conveniently access this.
2 kitchen hobs and grill in good working order and gas bottle currently hooked up.
12V LED lights throughout, all in working order.
240V campsite hook-up lead - plugs in working order last time we were hooked up on site.
Ample storage space, including wine rack, plate rack & cutlery drawer in addition to several cupboards and drawers for clothes and other storage.
CD player / radio & speaker system.
Will be MOT, Tax and ULEZ exempt in 2027 due to her being considered a 'classic vehicle' at that age.
Sale can include steering wheel lock and porta-potti if desired (this fits neatly under the bed when it's unfolded).
Full MOT, service history and Haynes manual

Future maintenance considerations
Spots of cosmetic rust have started to noticeably set in over recent years and will likely need addressing soon. Saying that, it's nothing that's affected her MOTs and the only advisory on any rust was to a footwell about 4 years ago with no problems since. A mechanic told me that any rust is currently a superficial, cosmetic issue rather than anything more worrying at this stage but clearly this needs remedying soon. I was going to attempt to fix this so sale can also include wire brush tools and Kurust paint I've purchased.

The automatic gearbox has a small transmission fluid leak which means it needs topping up once or twice a year (but ideally needs fixing). I haven't had any issues when changing gears and have continued to drive her fine. This has been picked up on the recent MOT and still passed as an advisory.

The air blower system has stopped working. I was quoted £600-800 to get this fixed at my trusted VW garage in Bristol as replacing the fan motor, whilst itself cheap, required taking the dashboard off which is a fair few hours labour. Whilst inconvenient, I have managed okay without the blowers for about 2-3 years in both winter and summer driving conditions.

Gas fridge needs maintenance or possibly replacing as neither I or the previous owner have gotten it working. The pilot light flame is visible but it doesn't seem to chill food. I'd say it acts more like a cool box - if you put chilled things in they keep relatively cool for a period of time but certainly an inconvenience for longer trips. When hooked up on site to 240V it does chill.
Windscreen washers (not the blades - these are fine) are temperamental and have needed to be fixed in the past - currently not working but has always been an easy fix at the garage and cost a tenner last time.

New kitchen tap needs fitting as the old plastic one snapped. (These are about £25 on Ebay). Currently I use the rubber hose to do any washing up.

1 of the auxiliary lights needs replacing (these aren't the main headlights so is still legal and has passed her MOT with 1 missing auxiliary light). The other auxiliary light and headlights work fine.

Whilst I've endeavoured to price her fairly, I'm open to negotiation as I appreciate she comes with some maintenance which needs doing in order to get her full campervan glory. I know there's many more adventures left in her yet and I hope she goes to someone who will give her some TLC so she continues being a beloved adventure companion. I'll be sorely sad to see her go as I have so many happy memories of the camping adventures we've been on all over the UK and beyond. Happy to answer any questions you might have before viewing and of course happy to take you out for a test drive in her.

Thanks for taking a look and always happy to answer any questions.
