We are selling Stella, our beloved family camper van. We have had some awesome holidays and trips in Stella, starting from when our eldest daughter was just a few weeks old. She’s now nearly 11, and has been joined by 2 brothers and 2 large dogs. This, along with school commitments at weekends, means we just don’t get to use Stella as much as we would like or as she deserves. We want more than anything to see her going to a new loving home.
A bit about Stella: We purchased Stella in 2013 from a family in Cambridge. Soon after we bought her, we had a full interior built by the amazing Jo & Adrian of All Things Timber in York. We opted to keep the full width bed (3/4 beds just don’t quite do it!) that folds in a forward facing bench seat with 3 seatbelts. Adrian also built us rear facing bench seat behind the drivers seat, that also turns in to a cot! Truly unique!
Once the bus was finished in York it went to Bromsgrove Auto Trimmers to have it’s brown & orange interior, which really goes well with the bright orange exterior and solid oak interior.
In 2016, Stella had an almost complete respray (following a scrape with a transit van on holiday in Jersey – only superficial damage thankfully, but the paintwork needed doing anyway) by the talented guys at Bromsgrove Body Repair.
Finally, in 2019, we made the decision to chop the roof off and put on a Westfalia style roof from the guys at Space Roofs in Devon. Safe to say, the kids absolutely love it up there!
Stella has a slightly unusual 2 litre twin carb engine that, since we bought her, we have barely touched – very much on the basis that if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it! We’ve had it serviced and MOT’d regularly, including waxing of the underside, but never had anything major done to the engine, and she has always done us proud. The only time she has ever broken down was a split clutch cable in Ireland, and apart from that, she has been absolutely golden! We are regularly told by anyone that sees underneath her what remarkably good condition she is in. It helps that since the day we owned her, she has been run regularly, and stored in our garage when not in use.
Stella comes with her own “Stella Bible” that documents her various owners and their projects & travels since her arrival in the UK in 2006. Prior to being in the UK, she worked as a fire engine at a Swedish airport!
