A much-loved van that the family has outgrown, unfortunately. She's just sitting there, not being used ... time to let her go to a new home. A great set up for camping for a couple+dog, or family with young kids who can fit up top (without bickering and elbowing each other, I speak from experience). Bodywork is going to need attention, but I don't have the time/skill to do that (and can't really justify it given that it's not being used).
(MANY) more photos than the 12 shown here available on request.
• 1975, H reg
• Mileage on odometer shows: 73,403
• Mileage since Feb 2007: 13,319
• Mileage is kinda meaningless (this was just the figure shown on odometer that I swapped in to replace KMh one that was on in Australia)
• 2 Litre Type 4 engine, single carb setup (can't recall what it's called)
• Conversion type: Sopru (South Australia)
• Only Sopru aspect left is pop-top, all interior changed
• Interior is an adapted Dormobile D 4/6
• 3/4 width bed has been converted to a full width bed, courtesy of some extra seating pads.
• Nice interior set-up - seating all firm, curtains
• Pop-top in good working order
• Leisure battery under bench with split charger
• Leisure battery powers some internal lights
• Leisure battery very much dead through not being used
• Eberspacher diesel heater (may need service, should run once leisure battery back up)
• Double-din stereo with Apple Car Play
• Van originally from Australia
• We drove it around Aus then shipped it home (BIG holiday souvenir)
• Have had it 20 years but in recent years it's just not been used
• Haven't got time/skill to keep it maintained (rusty bits will need work)
• Last MoT was in 2017 (MoT exempt, so you know, I haven't...)
• Despite being a pretty ordinary van, it has been featured in:
• VW Camper & Commercial magazine (for the Dormobile restoration)
• Campervan Crazy book (trip around Australia)
• VolksWorld magazine (in build-up to VolksWorld show showing a van working its way around the world)
• Official Volkswagen heritage postcard set
• Vanfest show program
