VW T25 campervan

VW T25 1.6 Diesel 5 speed campervan.
Affectionately known as Doris this van has had a full restoration from 2020 to 2023.

Interior

Brand new in 2023 star light campers interior fitted with 3/4 width rusty lee rock and roll bed. All new l.e.d lighting a new 12 volt compressor fridge from just kampers. New 2 burner gas hob and sink with clean and waste water tank onboard. 5kw diesel night heater fitted which is plumbed straight into the vans diesel tank. New flooring fitted inside. 180 watt solar panel fitted to roof with solar controller behind drivers seat. Both front seats have swivel bases fitted. Retro style radio fitted with aux usb and Bluetooth. Overhead lockers front and back giving loads of storage space. Interior electrics fully rewired. Full set of new double track blackout curtains fitted to living area. Gas bottle included with van as well. USB ports and 12v cigarette lighter fitted in living area. Pop up table which attaches to kitchen units with storage in boot included.

Body work

Huge amount of structural welding done including new sills new trailing arms and new trailing arm mounts welded in. All new wheel arches welded in.
New front valance. lower B posts repaired brand new tailgate fitted. Rot free replacement passenger sourced and fitted. All window surround’s welded and repaired inner wheel arches repaired where required floor pans repaired where required. Full professional respray carried out including repainting of the fibre glass high top in 2022. All new window rubbers fitted. All new door rubbers fitted. New tilting hatch with extractor fan fitted in roof.

Mechanical

Original 1.6 diesel engine fitted. Engine has had a new head gasket fitted overhauled injection pump with new seals. New sump gasket and fully serviced in June 2024. New cam belt fitted in April 2023. New stainless steel cooling pipes fitted from front to back new header tank fitted new radiator and fan switch fitted. New 3 piece clutch fitted new slave cylinder and new clutch pipe fitted. All new wheel bearings fitted. All new suspension fitted including H and R 40 mm lowering springs, all new shocks, all rubber bushes replaced front and back including torsion rods anti roll bar bushes and Lower arm ball joints. New track rod ends fitted. All new front brakes including discs pads callipers and brake pipes. New rear wheel cylinders and hand brake mechanism fitted. New split charge system fitted from engine battery to leisure battery with a smart voltage regulator.

General information

Affectionally known as Doris I have carried out most of the restoration work myself as a qualified mechanic. She has a mot on her til June 2025, although she will be classed as a historic vehicle in April 2025 so will then become exempt from tax and mot. Doris is a fully off grid camper utilising her engine split charge and solar panel to keep leisure electrics charged meaning you can camp anywhere without the need for electric hook up. She doesn’t have 240v fitted but we have done many camping trips and has been fine using 12v for charging phones and small appliances ran off the usb sockets.
Although she is a fully restored van please remember she is 40 years old so don’t expect her to drive like a new ford fiesta! I’m happy to conduct test drives with people if they wish.
