Since being in our ownership, the van has had the following work completed (in February 2023) at Jacks Garage, Notting Hill, specialising in VW classic cars:
removed gear box and replaced 3 piece clutch kit, engine rear main oil seal, fly wheel O ring and gear box input shaft seal.
New starter motor
new main vehicle battery
copper slipped starter motor terminals and gear box earth strap
new clutch slave cylinder and clutch master cylinder
replaced gear box gear shift
Service history.
We bought our beloved "Paddy" in September 2021 and have had many great camping trips in the UK, including a recent trip through Snowdonia National Park. Happily plods along the motorway at 60 mph. Made it up steep hills in North Wales, fully loaded with passengers and gear.
With a heavy heart, we are selling him due to re-locating to Australia.
Registered as a historic vehicle so is tax and MOT exempt. 49k miles on the clock.
Van is ready to drive away and is running well. Exterior body work is in good condition but has a minor area of rust under the window on the main sliding door. Recent inspection (November 2023) at local garage identified the following areas of attention:
inner and outer sill corrosion
tyre cracking
replace brake light bulbs
