1971 Bay Window

Right Hand Drive 1971 VW T2 Early Bay Campervan with 1776cc engine, with Twin 40 Carbs and Fat Boy Exhaust, it sounds really good and pulls very well up those hills!!!

The Mileage is 83,390 but this means very little as the campervan has been basically rebuilt, so the Engine has only done 2500 approx. miles. MOT and Tax-exempt vehicle.

I bought the van as a refurbished and sprayed shell and spent many hours and lots of money renovating it, I will be sad to see it go but just don’t have time to use it anymore so its time for someone else to enjoy it. I have a huge file with every receipt for all the parts over the years.

Exterior – The van is painted with VW Pastel White L90D. The Wheels are 15” BRM five spoke replicas with ok Michelin Tyres. The Roof is a Rag Top from Paris Sunroofs, it will open right back. I do have roof racks and side steps that will come with the van. The 2 front doors are not great however I have two perfect doors which are old stock not replicas and could be painted up if the price is right, otherwise the van is pretty solid including the underneath, which has been cleaned off and hammarite painted. The brakes have been upgraded with discs to the front and drums to the rear and these have all been replaced as new including the wheel bearings and shocks.

I have lowered the van by two splines on the rear and have had adjuster professionally welded into the front beam so the height can easily be adjusted.

Interior – The van is basically a surf bus and has a full width rock and roll bed which is very comfortable. The front seats are Recaro seats which came out of a Ford Cosworth and are great on long journeys. There are seat belts in the front and two in the back also. There is a good stereo with radio and CD player with iPod connection and six speakers which sounds great. There are no curtains but it comes with black out covers which stick to the windows and are cut to size, they work great and they are thermal.

Extras – Included in the sale is a driveaway awning (see photo) roofs racks, two side steps, black out covers, there are many extras on this van too many to mention!!!
