VW Baywindow panel van

Here is an opportunity to purchase a very early baywindow panel van, Built on the 15th November 1967, (they started being produced in August 1967),makes this van one of the very earliest baywindow panel vans built by volkswagen, (I have the birth certificate from volkswagen to prove build dates etc) and therefore one of the oldest baywindow vans on the road today. registered as a 1968,because theoretically bay windows didn't exist until 1968, because splitscreens were still being made.
Coming from the dry state of nevada the Western is rock solid, with no rot at all,
The Western was used as an advertising board for Western VW, a volkswagen repair shop in las vegas nevada, it was sat on the edge of the nevada desert and it had the shop name on the side and an arrow pointing to the garage, which is still faintly visible,
It was imported to England in 2009 as a rolling shell with most of its signage faded away.
It was sympathetically re written and given an engine and gearbox and put back on the road.
After 2 owners I purchased the van on 25/10/2021 from a dealer way down in Bournemouth. then I immediately sent it to union aircooled in Queensbury to give it a once over (check out there website). a lot of time and money later it was safe to be driven.
All the brakes are brand new, as is the steering box, clutch master cylinder, suspension bushes, it has adjustable front beam and rear drop plates, also has a vintage speed exhaust, etc etc.much too much to list, virtually everything underneath is either new or reconditioned and all receipts are with me .in November 2022 with mileage on clock at 68250,I had a low mileage (17000mls )1641 engine stripped, new parts fitted as required and fitted along with a better gearbox as mine had a whine in 4th gear. Both weber carbs were stripped and cleaned, A new clutch was fitted at this time, along with new engine mounts, gearbox mount, accelerator cable, fuel lines, drive shaft joints, etc etc.
Recently I gave it an MOT even though it doesn't have to have one due 3 April 2024.and it passed with no advisories, this is a testament to the work carried out by union aircooled .

Now why is it up for sale, well don't get me wrong I love this van and I have owned several Vw vehicles, but my other love is old mercedes and I have only room for one classic car, hence why I am advertising the van, I am certainly not in any rush and will enjoy it a while longer if the van doesn't sell.
So if you are looking for a very earlybay panel van, that pulls like a train has no rot and gets lots of attention, and has patina to die for then this is for you.if you are looking for a shiny show queen like lots of others then she isn't for you. Viewing is very much advised on this van.I am based in Yorkshire, and open to sensible offers. Thanks for viewing my advert.
