We've had this wonderful camper for around ten years. We bid on her one tipsy night whilst sitting on a beach in New Zealand. Won the auction and picked her up from Devon when we got home.. and have had fantastic times with her ever since. We are selling because we have had to buy a modern Transit for work and doesn't make sense for us to run two vans - so we are going back to using a tent. She is taxed until July this year at which point she becomes tax exempt as she is now 40 years old, and is MOT'd until the end of June (aligned to tax). She is a genuine Devon conversion classified as a motorhome from initial registration with original interior. We had the van converted to a guaranteed low mileage (under 40k), Japanese import Subaru engine around 7-8 years ago, with all of the extras required including new bell housing, wiring loom etc (all completed by MACVW in Manchester).A propex heater was fitted 2 years ago to extend the camping seasonreplacement high powered struts on tailgate to cope with mountain bikesSills in door ways and sliding door have all been cut out and replacedRe-spray and general tidy up 4 years agoLots of the usual bits along the way for MOTs such as new boots and universal joints. New starter motor, new alternator, etc. Regularly serviced with receipts and paperwork. We bought her with around 83,000 miles on the clock and replaced the engine at around 85,000 miles. She has now approx. 91,300, so the real mileage on the engine is no more than 46-47,000 miles. There is the usual wear and tear inside due to it being the original Devon conversion, but all in for forty years its really pretty good. The rock and roll bed works well and is comfy. Cooker and fridge are gas powered (cylinders not included). Mains hookup fully working with 240v wiring and plugs to run things like kettles< George Forman, fan heaters, hairdryers, etc. The buddy seat has been re-built using the original top and ironwork in plywood.Front seats have been reupholstered (at the same time as the respray) and the passenger seat is a captains chair (swivels around). The sills around the bumper could probably do with another touch up as it's 4 years since the respray, and there is a little bit of filler lifting on the wing by the drivers door. But all to be expected and part of owning an older vehicle. The underneath is very sound and solid. The Subaru engine made a huge difference to driving her around, she goes up hills in wales without wheezing, and then engine runs a little cooler than the original VW, which is handy in the inevitable traffic jams. She is a wonderful van that has given us years of pleasure and I'm sure will continue to do so for the owners for many more to come.
