Hi there, we are selling our bus
We have owned 'Hollybus' for about 13 years, I stripped all the paint off it and welded new german vw panels on the rear quarters and had a professional do the cab floor and front wings. Its brush coach painted orange. Weve been on our holidays round France and Belgium, up to Orkney, all over the place over the years and the bus has been dead reliable.
Its a 1979 twin sliding door panel van with the original 2 litre type 4 engine and gearbox with loads of power. Its got a single 32/34 weber carb. Its been converted to take a pop top roof. Over the years all the wheel bearings have been done and its got less than 90 000 miles on it.
The steering box was poorly when we bought it so I had a Red9 rack and pinion steering fitted and the whole bus lowered by Red9 who did a brilliant job and transformed the steering of our bus.
In 2019 my son got married and we used the bus as the wedding car. In preparation we pulled the engine out to tidy up the engine bay, renew the fuel lines, weld the hole up in the exhaust and repaired the original heat exchangers. The inside was stripped out and lined and the rock and roll bed was recovered.
Unfortunately not long after the wedding Covid hit and the bus has been in storage and not run at all until today...see video. I drained the fuel, stripped and cleaned the carb, put a bit more pressure in the tyres, put a battery in and it fired straight up and settled down to a lovely tickover.
It really hasnt done the bus any favours being outside (although covered) over the last few years, rust is breaking out in patches especially round the front window and the rear gutter and it needs someone to take it on and love it.
We are asking £10, 000 firm.
I can send more photos if you pm me or even better come and have a proper look. Its in Bridlington, East Yorkshire.
