Custard Jake 1971 Bay Window Westfalia LHD.
We purchased Jake within six months of him arriving in the UK from the West Coast of USA. He was immediately waxoiled and has been garaged with a dehumidifier during our ownership. He is structurally sound without any structural repairs to our knowledge.
Tax free. MOT free (though we have continued MOTing for safety – expires July 2022)
The exterior has character which we love and have left like this. However, we have improved greatly:
Engine Shop 1641cc unit with twin carbs fitted 2017 – done ~5,000 miles
Vintage Speed stainless steel exhaust
SSP BRM alloys incl spare.
Fire suppression system fitted to engine bay
Custom Interiors fitted wardrobe, roof storage, buddy seat storage, cutlery drawer in fridge unit, fold out shelf on fridge unit.
Re-trimmed front seats, rear rock n roll bed bench seat, buddy seat.
New pop top canvas
New head lining
Vitrifrigo Fridge
Dometic twin hobs above ridge with gas cylinder in buddy seat (happy to include the cylinder).
Centre console with cup holders (Starbucks preferred) which slides back to become a second buddy seat
T5 style table (clipping onto permanent bar)
Full width bed in pop top
Hammock bars and fabric – fits across cockpit area
Leisure battery
240v Hook up (positioned below original location)
Fire extinguisher
2x USB ports in rear.
2x USB and 4x three Pin Plug connections on forward fridge/hob unit via hook up
Immobiliser system
Jake has been regularly serviced by local specialists during our ownership with plenty of paperwork. For the last ~5 years by Auto Vintage Repairs (who are happy to vouch for him)
Genuine reason for sale and we will be very sad to see Custard Jake leave our family. Especially our 10-year-old daughter who knows nothing else but #vanlife with him. He needs to go to an equally loving home.
I have tried to cover everything. Any questions please give me a call.
