1973 Bay fully restored

Meet Betsy, a beautiful 1973 Bay window VW camper!

She starts and drives easily, is super reliable and in great condition.

Betsy was imported from California in 2010 ( where she had one previous owner!) and underwent a full custom refit, carried out by Southwest Splitz near Exeter. She was stripped back to bare metal and given a full respray inside and out. Her whole interior was brand new with handmade cabinetry, a sink with pumped water, two hob cooker, a fridge and a sound system which run off a leisure battery.

Her Poptop canvas was replaced at the same time and her roof top hammock was replaced also.

Her rock roll bed and other seats were all replaced with new upholstery and foam. She also had a swivel fitted for the passenger seat at the same time

Mechanically she is incredibly sound. Her gearbox and steering etc was reconditioned at 85k on the clock. More importantly, she was fitted with a brand new NOS type 2 Vw engine at the same time. This engine has done only 4000 miles!

Her bodywork was all entirely sound in 2010 and has not been patched or re-worked since then. There are some small areas of rust bubbling see photos)

She is tax and technically MOT exempt but passed an MOT a couple of months ago with flying colours. We have all the original paperwork from the import and refit which fully details her restoration.

We sadly don’t use her enough and have nowhere to store her safely so we are hoping someone can give her a loving home! She’s currently in North Devon and available to see by arrangement.
