We’re very sad to be selling our 1985 VW Vanagon GL due to buying our first home.

We purchased the van locally in 2021 and have since covered thousands of trouble-free miles around the UK and France. The van was imported from the USA in 2016, when it had the high top and camper-van interior professionally fitted. We're the second owners in the UK and have had the van maintained and serviced regularly by Paul Van Works, a classic VW specialist in Medway, Kent.

The van is very easy to drive both around town and over long distances thanks to the automatic gearbox, power steering and comfortable seats. It starts first time, and will happily cruise at 65mph on the motorway.

The underside of the van is very clean, thanks to spending most of it's life in Colorado, a dry US state. The van was also undersealed when it arrived in the UK. The bodywork is in very good condition for a 38 year old van, with a few bumps and scrapes, and some very minor seam rust. Sills, steps and other problem areas are all solid.

The only mechanical issues we're aware of is that it doesn't like being filled to the brim with fuel (leaky overflow pipe) and the speedo can intermittently under read (probably just needs a new cable as was fine until recently).

This van has been loved and maintained to a high standard over the last 10 years, with stacks of paperwork from the UK and the US. This is our only vehicle and we never hesitate to drive across the country to visit family or friends.
