'Earl' is a 1.9 litre, water-cooled Transporter with the DG engine mated to a 4-speed gearbox and has covered 129K miles since new, although only 3K on a new VEGE engine (fitted in 2020). The current MOT runs until August 2023.

The interior is almost all original and the bodywork is in good condition but there is some corrosion. It seats four passengers, all with 3-point seatbelts and sleeps two on the rock 'n roll bed and two in the roof. The front passenger seat swivels. It has the original 2-ring stainless steel hob and a grill, a stainless steel sink and drainer, 3-way fridge (but only works on gas). There are plenty of storage lockers, including a wardrobe at the rear. The floor, walls and ceiling are carpeted and there is a table that can be fitted in the rear or on a portable stand outside.

There is a leisure battery and mains electric hook-up, with a cable and an adapter for a domestic socket. I also have a solar panel that keeps the main battery topped up on a trickle charge. In the front, there is a stereo radio (removable front panel) with USB and Bluetooth connections for mobile devices. At the rear there is a fixed towbar and a stainless steel ladder to access the roof rack.

One key fits all doors, ignition and fuel cap, with further keys for the glovebox and water tank. Two sets in total. The van is also protected by an immobiliser. There is a fire extinguisher in the back and a full-length awning that fits on a rail above the nearside windows.

It's serviced annually with an oil change and new oil filter, as well as the following work:

Front track control arms

'S' type hose and water pump
