1964 LHD VW T2 Splitscreen 1500cc (Price Drop for quick sale)

The van was originally a panel van with step through side doors but was converted to a campervan with rock n roll bed and side cupboards with some extremely comfortable Cadillac front seats. It was imported from California via the Netherlands in 2007 and converted to UK use. I am the first UK registered owner. It was originally cream, but I had it professionally resprayed in Cream and White and revamped the interior.

We have owned it since August 2007 and has been in regular use. However, we now use it less often and I no longer have the time to put into its maintenance, so it is time it was passed on to others to enjoy.

Condition:
Bad rust on sills on both sides – will need replacing. Hence low price.
Some rust bubbling up under the paintwork, see pictures. Other than this the main structure and outriggers are completely rust free.
The engine runs beautifully and general mechanics are sound.

Recent work:
New clutch 3 years ago.
New cylinders and piston set 2 years ago, valves re-ground and general de-coke.
New brake master cylinder this year.
Respray 15 years ago and bottom of front doors patched. When the van was prepared for the respray, there was evidence of a dent repair on the front nearside.
New stainless-steel tin-wear 10 years ago.
