1962 Splitscreen Camper (Winnie)

This unique van has a massive specification,if, you want a head turning van and want to enter shows ,or just use her for trips she’s ready to go, she has had a full bare metal restoration and over 500 hours of media blasting, heat shrinking and painting by Irv’s VW restorations specialists (https://www.irvsvwrestoration.co.uk)

She has been completely stripped by Matt Gill Restoration (https://www.mattgillrestoration.co.uk) and every part has either been reconditioned or replaced and many parts have been upgraded from stock specification, the list of work is extensive and I have tried to call out some of the highlights below;

Mechanical:

The engine was created by Paul Hammond (https://www.vwspeedshop.com) and is a fuel injected 2165cc, fitted with 94mm pistons, 78.5mm crank, 45 mm throttle bodies, stainless steel exhaust, external oil cooler and all AN pipe fittings.

- 1303 gearbox
- Rack and pinion steering

- New wiring loom
- Leisure battery and split charge relay kit for 12v internal electrics with 240v socket

Belly pans fitted for extra rigidity (needed for elevating roof )
