Very rare 1978 KARMANN MOBIL
Ready for Summer camping trips our 1978 Coach built Karmann Mobil.
1 of approx 200 made and only 3 in the UK as far as I know. Now Tax Exempt.
Fully Restored, 2018 finished in late 2020, now one of the best examples on the road in Europe.
Complete with Original Factory awning which came from original owner in Germany, Complete original interior including rare Map table, working water pump, original water and waste water tanks, Shower, shower curtains, toilet, I actually have the original some where which will be included in the sale, if your up for using a 44 year old thunder box! 2 ring gas cooker / sink unit, Fridge, Gas Boiler / Heater, ( Boiler & Heater not used due to age, would need servicing and recommissioning ) we use electric hook up and oil heater, original Monroe rear air socks and ride height adjuster all working, 240, leisure battery with split charge, interior re trimmed in period fabric over the original fabric as it was getting a little faded, but is still there and intact! Original curtains and nets!
Super strong and very reliable 2 Litre Type 4 twin carb engine, we have been on several 1000 mile + trips last year with no break downs! Just covered 264 miles to VolksWorld Show and back, its an absolute dream to drive, especially with the servo brakes. I would have no qualms driving this bus to Europe and back. Recent service using best quality oil & filters, new, fuel lines & filters, new brake shoes, new exhaust, hinged front number plate.
The restoration included caravan body strip down, replace any rotten wood in frame, repair and repaint caravan and body. Front cab wheel arch, front crossmember, bumper support, seat belt panels, A post repairs, new door, replaced, loads of new parts, all new seals etc. Any parts & panels used were genuine or best quality no expense spared in the resto, full body re spray.
