**SOLD** VW T2 Bay

We are reluctantly selling our bay as with a growing family we require something bigger. We have had her since 2009 and she’s served us well on holidays in the UK and France. Over the winter she has been stripped back to bare metal and any areas of rust repaired. She then had a new front panel, deformation panel and new front & rear bumpers and irons, new seals on all doors and windows, new front grille and indicators She was then had a full professional respray. She is now essentially rust free. Over the years she's had other body work repairs, replacement panels (rear) and underbody repairs. Now has a solid underside with new outriggers and jacking points. Fitted with a Devon style pop-top with original canvas and frame. Devon style louvred side window. The interior was professional installed and is in good condition. It includes a kitchen unit with 2-Burner gas hob, mini wardrobe, L-Shaped seating with underseat storage, full-width rock&roll bed and over-bed storage. There are flush-fitted 12v interior lights, over-bed reading lights and double 12v socket. Full set of gingham curtains. 2x rear seat belts. The leisure battery is fitted with a split charging relay and interior fuse box. Propex blown air gas heater with automatic thermostat. She has a 1700cc Type 4 engine. She drives well, starts every time and will sit comfortably at 65mph, returning around 25mpg. Stock twin solex carbs. Ignition timing most recently set in 2020. Has 40000 on the clock of the original Type 4 engine. Comes with lots of old receipts and paperwork dating back almost 30yrs. Tax and MOT exempt I have the birth certificate from VW Heritage Museum showing her rolling of the production line in late ’73. The previous owner did a lot of work to the van including; Replaced pushrod tubes & seals Replaced rocker cover gaskets New carbs Replaced outriggers and jacking points New door rubbers Engine bay welding Cab floor welding She has been kept in a garage over the last 5 winters. Negatives; The stock heating system is not complete and therefore there is no direct cab heating from the engine bay whilst driving. The upholstery in the rear was fitted 5+yrs ago and the new owner may wish to refresh. Sale includes a table top with chrome table leg, mount and base as well as tripod for outdoor table use. The price I believe is fair for a van that is becoming increasingly rare. However its a really good van for this price and will hopefully give somebody some great fun.
