1976 VW T2 Late Bay Tin Top Campervan Easy running and driving project camper

Thanks for viewing our advert. Here we have a 1976 T2 Late Bay Tin Top Camper van. Right hand drive. Manual Transmission. 84776 miles - will go up slightly as we are using her. We took it as part exchange against another bus - and it's being sold for what it owes us and will do somebody a good turn, She is registered as a Historic Vehicle, so is fully MOT and Tax exempt. The majority of the chassis is solid, from looking all I can see is it will need a front Y section, under the cab floor, and the inner sills sorting out. Floors etc are all excellent. The tin top roof is one of the best we have ever seen, with literally amazing gutters and no rot. Tatty around the bottom six inches of the body, fairly standard, and she's not got the best paint job, but some of the panels have been replaced already (one rear arch, dogleg etc) so it's not all bad. She will need a new top section of the front clip - possibly a full clip but deformation panel and most of the clip is good - however its slightly dented in places so probably best to do a full clip. Imported front cab doors with opening quarter lights. Bottoms of the doors not too bad but not perfect. 1641cc engine with twin carb set up - starts first time everytime, runs brilliantly with plenty of power - no end float or any nasties. She does have an oil leak, but she's been sat for 3 years so its possibly just the tube seals have gone hard. The gearbox, brakes, electrics etc are all excellent. Nice stereo and speakers. 240v Inverter. All doors lock as they should. She is complete and nicely fitted out inside. Full width rock and roll bed, storage unit, portable cooker, fully curtained etc - ready to camp in. EMPI alloys with good tyres. Half length roof rack fitted and included. An excellent and easy running and useable project for somebody, and a great chance to get on the T2 ladder at an affordable price. Genuine UK microbuses with real rear windows (not converted panel vans) are getting harder to find, as are solid tin tops. First to see will buy. She's a project, but not a huge one, useable straight away, and a great investment. Any test drives welcomed, we are using her as a daily runner whilst she's here, so she's all insured and roadworthy. She isn't mint, certainly won't win any beauty contests as she is lol, but she isn't mint money either. Well worth the effort to get back to her former glory though. Grab a huge bargain!!
