Betty is a 1971 German built bus that has spent most of her life ‘dry stored’. As a result she is rare solid example as she approaches her 50th birthday.
She has done a little over 35,000 miles with her original air cooled engine. Whilst purists will shake their heads, she is much easier to drive with the manually adjustable power steering unit installed.
Seats could do with a good scrub as well as some of the other vinyl. There is some bubbling to a very small amount of the paintwork. Sliding into second is tricky the first few times but I have no issues now, just takes a little getting used to. I can’t think of anything else. Obviously, with a vehicle of her age she will be in need of regular upkeep & maintenance.
There is an awning rail too.
I’ve had several busses but none nicer than Betty. Having to, reluctantly, let her go as I’ve recently purchased a narrow boat to get even further off the grid!
