Welcome To the sale of this Dual Colour Devon VW Camper

1981 2.0l Petrol

MOT until April 2022

This camper came to me in 2014 after being left in a field a number of years with the glass removed. Suffice to say it needed a full restoration.

Since then the following has been carried out:

Full bare metal Body Restoration. Limited welding. Most of the panels were removed and new panels put in place. It then had a full respray and since then has been driven very few miles. there is No rust anywhere on the body with the exception of a tiny bubble on the drivers door which hasn't come through the paint, but thats it other than that its rust free. The front end was cut from a water cooled version but this is the air cooled 2.0l. please ignore the lower grill its just cosmetic decor.

Full engine recommission and service including the removal of the old problematic dual carbs replaced with modern dual port single carb.

Most of the original dash had been ruined so used dash was installed.

Gearbox flushed and serviced with fresh oil.

New Petrol Tank, New Fuel Lines , New Fuel Pump,

Brakes all round serviced and renewed where needed . MOT threw up a balance issue which had work carried out to resolve. Clutch is good with the slave cylinder service carried out.

Underneath is pretty much perfect with no corrosion.

Engine bay is good with minor rusty edges on tinware

Inside everything had been destroyed by rain and damp so it has had everything replaced .

New R&R bed with 6" foams (these have not been slept on - as new.
Original Devon foams were only 3" these are the best 6" Foams)
New repro VW Quality manufacture Yellow Plaid Material all round
New Roof bed 3" foams (again not slept on) with VW Original Yellow plaid material
Black material in general used to cover beams and cab.
New LED lighting
Original Sink & Cooker installed
New Cabinets installed
New Fridge / hot box included
Electric Water pump fitted
New Curtains all round
Headliner replaced
12v Electrics sorted and New Leisure battery installed along with a New Split charge Relay.

In short a ton of money and work has been done to restore this old camper and its now in great condition.

I have carried out a lot of the interior work myself so please don't expect a Pro finish on everything. Its all New and its a functional, well presented 81 Camper which will serve someone for many years to come.

The only things I would suggest needs work short term are the Elevating roof strut which is weak and will not hold the heavy roof for long. passenger side front seat could do with sewing on the edge as its come apart.
So a couple of gas struts would be required and a bit of sewing.

Its priced to sell

PAYMENT VIA BANK TRANSFER / PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR BANK ALLOW LARGE SUM TRANSFERS

Ive taken into consideration the faults and general market fluctuation

so its overall its a good price with room for increase in value

V5 in my name
Keys with vehicle

Viewing welcome,

I can run it and demonstrate but if you want to test drive you will need to organise valid day insurance, you will appreciate that Im not going to let it go on the road un-insured , so bring proof of insurance or it simply can't go off the drive. If you purchase it thats your risk and you can take away as you please.
