Great condition for age and a potential future classic which is already appreciating in value. The van was imported to the UK and we are the second UK owners. Westfalia campers were factory converted from new and are well known as one of the finest quality conversions it's possible to buy - the quality of the interior kit still surpasses even that of the current generation of VW Californias which cost from between £56K to £70K new. Heartbroken to be parting with this lovely van which has been our pride and joy for the last 12 years, and treated as a member of our family. Unfortunately, I need a ULEZ compliant vehicle, so need to find a new home with someone who will enjoy it as much as we have. The van has been regularly serviced by Jack’s Garage in London throughout our 12 years of ownership and we have a thick folder of original service receipts, manuals etc. It has been serviced yearly. It's obviously left hand drive (Westfalia only produced a very small number of RHD versions of this van), but don't let that put you off - it's easy to adjust to and great if you plan to drive on the continent. The van has the 2.4 Diesel engine - it won't break any speed records but is a strong, simple to maintain, reliable and well-regarded "analogue" engine which actually feels quite sprightly and will happily cruise at 70mph all day on the motorway but does sometimes need a bit of gear work on steeper hills. We've used the van for a yearly trip to Europe as well as a second vehicle and it's never let us down. The van is very comfy for long journeys and great fun to drive with fantastic all round visibility. It has a cavernous amount of storage space. The rear seat can slide throughout the van and folds flat to a comfy double bed, with a second double bed in the pop top. Both front captain seats swivel and a removable table (stored under the rear seat when not in use) makes it possible to have 4 people around the table for a meal. The tap in the sink extends out on a hose through the window in order that it can be used an an external shower, which is really handy for days at the beach etc. The van has a Fiamma three bike rack. It also has a good quality stereo which was only fitted 2 years ago. The leisure battery is charged from the engine whilst running. The van is reliable and in great condition for its age with just some minor quirks and cosmetic flaws consistent with any older vehicle. Do feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or wish to view the van. We are based Fulham, London. Happy to take serious viewers out for a test drive but note that I'll need to see proof of insurance if you wish to test drive the van yourself. If you live some distance away and are serious about the van then I'm also happy to do a "video tour" of the van over Zoom by arrangement. We'll be truly sad to see the van go and are in no great rush to sell so please, don't waste my time or yours with daft offers. The market is very strong for quality camper conversions currently and we know how rare and sought after vans of this type are. No armchair dreamers please. Sold as seen. In terms of payment, we'll be expecting a £500 deposit to secure the van and remove it from sale with the balance payable by bank transfer with funds cleared before we release the keys and paperwork.
