It’s that time of year again when we step back in time to the 40s, 50s, and 60s at Goodwood Revival! With over 100 Splits driving around the track and JK having a stand, this year was a big one for the VW scene and for Just Kampers!

A whole bunch of us from the JK team were there across the weekend, soaking up the atmosphere and catching up with all of you. Our photographer, Nick, was also busy snapping moments from around the event. Here’s what everyone had to say about the weekend!

One of the real highlights this year was the T2 Split 75th anniversary parade. With over 100 splits taking to the Goodwood track, it was a rare sight in the UK & possibly even the world. It was special to be part of that moment and to meet so many new people from the VW community.

A big part of Revival is about dressing up, and for me, the people are what make this event extra special. With this year’s theme being the “Summer of Love”, the crowds were popping with colour around the display areas, filling the whole event with an amazing atmosphere.

Goodwood Revival hosts a wide range of racing categories across the weekend, from vintage F1 cars to a kids’ pedal race! But for me, the highlight is always the RAC TT Celebration. It’s arguably the crown jewel of the Revival race weekend.

It’s a one-hour race with a star-studded driver line-up filled with F1 world champions, IndyCar, Le Mans, and Touring Car winners. The roar of V8-powered Cobras and E-types being chased by TVRs and Porsches makes it a full adrenaline-filled spectacle!

With the added spice of heavy rain this year, things got even more chaotic. Huge puddles of standing water caused all sorts of issues for the drivers, making the racing an even bigger spectacle.

This year’s Revival was my first Goodwood experience, and oh boy is it going is it going to be hard to top. Not only was it air-cooled, but I also got to go on the Split-Screen parade lap not once but twice. The atmosphere around Revival is not something I could even begin to put into words, old school dress code, racing and a car show all in one, what more could a girl ask for!

I was lucky enough to get access to the main paddock, which was an awesome experience. I got to get up and personal with the cars taking part in the TT. Having a proper nosey around. Especially, the 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray.

The only way this weekend would be topped is if they did a Classic Beetle parade in the future!

The standout moment for me at Goodwood Revival had to be watching all the T2 Splits take their parade lap around the iconic Goodwood track. With passengers all dressed up, waving out of the windows and flying flags as they cruised by, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. And luckily for me, the sun was shining too!

Another personal highlight for me was the track walk with Jason and Lewis. The route takes you on a full loop of the winding Goodwood Circuit, giving us the perfect chance to stretch our legs, soak up the atmosphere, and watch the classic cars take to the tarmac. It was great fun, even when a sudden downpour caught us halfway round!

This year’s Goodwood Revival on Friday was a feast for the senses, with the sights, sounds, and smells of motoring history all around. A real highlight was witnessing the first-ever 75th anniversary parade lap of the VW Type 2 Transporter, a proud moment for enthusiasts as dozens of examples made their way around the famous Goodwood circuit. Away from the track, the variety was staggering, from pristine classics and period racers to military vehicles and rare oddities, all brought to life by the unique Revival atmosphere.

An impromptu shower during a walk around the outside of the circuit only added to the authenticity of the day and made for some spicy racing action! Among so many incredible cars, one that stood out for me the most was Jim Clark’s MK1 Lotus Cortina, a reminder of both his talent and the enduring appeal of this iconic machine. It was so nice for the team to get together outside of work and experience the sights and sounds of the Goodwood Revival. If you've never been, make sure you do, it's well worth it!
